Quick notice: B&H has the legendary, insanely popular, highly regarded and much sought after Panasonic Lumix 20mm f/1.7 Micro Four Thirds lens back in stock now! It retails at B&H for US-$ 399 — you can currently get it on eBay.com for US-$ 450 minimum, and prices can go beyond US-$ 500. So if you were looking to buy this lens, here’s your chance at getting it at the manufacturers MSRP. (Of course you could always get it second hand for less, but then you won’t have warranty nor B&H’s great customer service!)
In case you don’t know the Lumix 20/1.7: It’s THE lens for Micro Four Thirds! Providing a 40mm-equivalent field-of-view, which is VERY versatile, being neither too wide (like a 28mm) nor too narrow (like 50mm can easily be) for general photography. With it’s f/1.7 initial aperture it’s ideal for low light photography. The lens is sharp from the start, and provides good contrast and colour rendition. It’s actually SO good that it’s the only reason I’m keeping my Olympus E-P1 camera, despite using my Leica M8 + Zeiss lenses most of the time these days.
Check out my pictures taken with the 20/1.7 here.
