We’re heading off to Austria for vacations tomorrow morning, so I wanted to present you with one last potd before I’m absent for two weeks. I might or might not have internet access in Austria, so I might not be able to post any updates during that time.

This shot is actually an older one, from our visit to the zoo early last month, but I only got to processing it today.

E-P1 + Lumix 45-200 = LOVE! That’s why I couldn’t possibly sell the E-P1 (apart from its portability and fun factors): I couldn’t ever get this close to things with the M8 – just not possible! So, no second lens for the Leica soon

Yesterday we seized the wonderful weather and spent the afternoon at the zoo of Cologne. This was my first time at the zoo with my new Lumix 45-200 telephoto zoom lens, and there were a lot of great opportunities for taking pictures. Out of the many shots I took, I today present you only those that have birds as their subject, as this lens is ideal for birding due to its versatile focal range of 90-400mm equiv.

The Lumix 45-200 has joined the family!

Recently, E-P1′s little family has been joined by a new member – the Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-200/4-5.6 O.I.S tele-zoom lens, which is currently the only tele-zoom available for Micro Four Thirds. The lens is quite large and heavy (in MFT terms), but just a blast to use! The size of the barrel offers substantial grip, aiding at stabilizing the camera. The 90-400mm equivalent zoom range is just awesomely versatile, and above all, the lens is incredibly fast focusing.
