Two new shots with the C/P 25/1.4

Recently, I put the Cosmicar/Pentax 25mm f/1.4 C-mount TV-lens back on my E-P1, after not having used it for quite some time. I was instantly reminded what I loved about this lens so much: It’s a normal focal length, it has a fast initial aperture and it draws some unique pictures, with crazy swirly bokeh, great colours and great sharpness. Add to this the heavily blurred egdes and slight vignetting, and you get some really outstanding pictures – in the literal sense of the word.

The first picture shows a heap of branches that had been picked up around the park after the storm a few days ago.

Picture of the day (June 11, 2010)

Something I see (almost) every day – the water boiler next to my office. On the left: the switches for moving the window shutters on this floor.

I put the C/P 25/1.4 back on my E-P1 just for fun :-) The b&w conversion was done in Lighroom 3 beta 2 using the “High contrast b&w” preset and adding some additional grain.

Another fan of the Pentax 25mm f/1.4 C-mount lens!

Recently, dpreview Micro Four Thirds Talk forum user PhotoByRichard acquired a new, latest-version Pentax 25mm f/1.4 C-mount lens from B&H – essentially the same lens I’ve reviewed earlier this year.

Richard uses the lens on his GF1 and shared some great shots he took with the combo, as well as a link to a flickr slideshow featuring more of his work. He has a great eye for subjects and composition, and his work with this little lens is really outstanding!

I think I’m going to have to put it on my E-P1 again as well … :-)

P.S.: Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever had so many links in this short a post!

Article on CCTV lenses for MFT at The Phoblographer

The Phoblographer has written a small article on CCTV lenses for Micro Four Thirds, mentioning, among others, the new Noktor 50/0.95 HyperPrime and the legendary Cosmicar/Pentax 25/1.4. They have also included a list of CCTV lenses which they recommend to any MFT user who likes to shoot manual.

Dandelions! Or is it dandelia? Or dandeliones? Whatever.
The first picture is straight out-of-camera, with only some minor tweaking in curves and color applied.  The second one is from RAW and was heavily processed, as you will see. I like both!

Oh, and Amy, this was by no means intentional! :-)
