Yesterday, after some heavy rain, the water that came down from the hills decided not to stay in the sewers, but instead make its way up through the tarmac and onto the street. This is how it looked like:

They decided to dig up the road the same evening and kept digging until way past midnight. Well, at least it was fixed this morning … just in time, as it started raining again later today.
As I already mentioned, I’ve slapped the little Cosmicar/Pentax 25mm f/1.4 C-mount lens onto my E-P1 again — and what can I say, I’m as thrilled again by this lens as I was the first, the second, the third and all consecutive times I used it. On the E-P1, it’s simply magical!
There’s something about the colours the way theĀ lens renders them combined with the way the E-P1 reproduces them that make this special combination so unique. From all the lenses I’ve used on the E-P1, this is the one I enjoy the most — and yes, its optical imperfections have a good deal to do with that!
But before I lose myself in ongoing ravings about this little, inexpensive gem, let pictures speak!

I’ve put the little Cosmicar/Pentax 25/1.4 TV lens on the E-P1 again — this lens is just pure joy! I love its soft colour and contrast, the crazy bokeh, the inherent optical shortcomings … but I think I said that many times before already
The first Potd post for this year!
I’ve been having some fun with my Cosmicar/Pentax 25/1.4 C-mount lens on the E-P1 again these past days. What an enjoyable combination, I had totally forgotton how much fun this was! Here’s a picture for you bokeh cravers

I really miss an option in the E-P1 to set a min. shutter speed before the next higher ISO value is chosen. Especially with legacy lenses which don’t communicate focal length information, the camera opts for shutter speeds around 1/60 to 1/100 sec, unnecessarily cranking up the ISO where shots could be taken as low as 1/20 sec thanks to the in-camera image stabilizer. I wrote an email to Olympus with this and several other suggestions for a future firmware update, but got no answer naturally.
