The weather has turned really ugly around here, with clouds and rain and low temperatures, and there’s really not much one can do. So I had a look on my hd and picked some shots from late september and early october, when the sun was still shining. But nonetheless I like the outcome with that swooshy effect that came from all those objects moving at different speeds … ![]() Olympus E-P1 + Lumix 20/1.7 @ f/1.7, 1/30 sec, ISO 200 I apologize for not treating you with new pictures lately, but I just didn’t get around to anything since photokina. But as now summer is definitely over and leaves are starting to change colours and fall, the world is so full of colours I just can’t suppress the urge to share some of these magic moments with you. So here’s a little treat from yesterday, and more is to be expected soon! ![]() Olympus E-P1 + Lumix 20/1.7 @ f/1.7, 1/640 sec, ISO 200 I just went outside, and seeing those trees with their yellow leaves against the blue sky made me think of this post in my old picblog, about a stroll through Marburg’s botanical gardens around this time last year. DigitalRev posted a video on YouTube in which they do a highly “unscientific” comparison of three focusing systems: phase detection, contrast detection and manual rangefinder focusing. The result: the Leica M9 beats the Olympus E-P1 hands down even with static subjects (provided you’ve got some training in rangefinder focusing), and has the edge over the Canon EOS 5D when light gets sparse.
