The weather was wonderful today, and we went for a walk to a nearby lake that is surrounded by woods. Close to the lake there was also a large playground where Emil had lots of fun. There were other children, too, and on boy had brought his St. Bernard dog – a huge but gentle, almost bearlike creature that is most affectionate towards children. These are really fascinating animals, and the perfect companion for a family.

This time I used the Ektachrome 100 preset in Color Efex, which has muted colours and medium contrast. The picture was so vibrant straight from the camera that most of the other silde film presets gave far too strong colours and contrast. Also, Ektachrome has a nice, soft grain to it that is visible already in the 100 ASA version.
We headed off to the in-laws for the easter holidays. I wanted to capture this colourful arrangement of tulips before they would finally start to wither … Lr 3 + Color Efex Pro @ Fujichrome Sensia 200.

Emil and I were strolling through the city this afternoon, and of course we had to stop at the fountain As you can probably imagine, Emil was soaked afterwards … Lr 3 + Color Efex Pro @ Fujichrome Velvia 100.
 PAD #39 | "Backlit fountain" | Leica M8 + Biogon 28/2.8 @ f/2.8, 1/1500 sec, ISO 160
I need to code that Biogon! This picture looks good, but in others I’m getting quite strong cyan corners. If only I could find that sharpie I still had before we moved …
Another picture showing our beautiful city! This time, it’s the castle inbetween two of the humanties’ towers, which look only half as ugly when they’re surrounded by blooming springtime plantlife …
Developed in Lr 3 + Color Efex Pro @ Fujichrome Provia 100. With this shot, Provia provided the best mix of medium strong contrast and vivid colour rendition, featuring bright greens, yellows and oranges and strong, slightly darkened blues and reds – just like I would’ve tweaked the colours had I not imported the picture into Color Efex.
 PAD #38 | "Humanities/Castle" | Leica M8 + Planar 50/2 @ f/8, 1/500 sec, ISO 160
There is this one street in Marburg that has only cherry trees, and each year during springtime, the whole street will be filled with pink blossoms. It attracts many visitors and photographers each spring, because it is quite a sight, and unique around here.
During the last couple weeks, I regularly took a detour on my way to work, to see if the trees were already blooming. Yesterday, I finally found them blooming in full splendour!
